Setting Up Self Service Password Reset (Student)

Background

If you forget your password it is possible to reset it yourself.  Follow the procedure below to enable self service password reset.

NB: You will need to complete the procedure below before you are able to use self service password reset.

Procedure

1. Browse to https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo
2. Select Add method (see below)
   
   
   
   
3. Select Phone from the Choose a method drop-down (see below)
   
   
   Then select Add (see below)
   
   
   
   
4. Choose United Kingdom (+44), Enter phone number and select Next (see below)
   
   
   
   
5. You will now receive a text message on your mobile phone with a 6 digit verification code, enter this code and select Next (see below)
   
   
   Select Done to complete (see below)
   
   
   
   
6. Select Add method (see below)
   
   
   
   
7. Select Email from the Choose a method drop-down (see below)
   
   
   
   Then select Add (see below)
   
   
   
   
8. Enter email address and select Next (see below)
   
   

   NB: You need to enter a personal e-mail address and NOT your school e-mail address.

   
   
   
   
9. You will now receive a email verification code to the personal e-mail address you entered in the step above, Enter code and select Next to complete (see below)
   
   
   

   NB: You will now need to use your security details above and select Verify to access your Security info https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo (see below)
