How to Copy Data From Your Home Folder to OneDrive (Student)

Background

If you need to move or copy data from your Home Folder (H:\) to Microsoft OneDrive this can be achieved using This PC (if connected to a School computer) or using Foldr (if using a personal device)


Procedure Using This PC

To copy a folder from your Home Folder to your OneDrive using This PC follow the steps below.

  1. Open This PC then open Home Drive (H:) (see below)


  2. Open another instance of This PC then open Personal OneDrive (O:) (see above)
  3. Copy the appropriate files and folders from Home Drive (H:) to Personal OneDrive (O:)



Procedure Using Foldr

To copy a folder from your Home Folder to your OneDrive using Foldr follow the steps below.

  1. Login to Foldr

    CGShttps://files.carres.uk 
    KSHShttps://files.kshs.uk 

  2. If you haven't used your Personal OneDrive through Foldr before you will need to Link account (see below)


    Select YES, CONTINUE and if it doesn't automatically link your account enter your username@robertcarretrust.uk and Password to continue
  3. Open My Home Folder (see below)



  4. Browse to the folder (or file) you wish to copy, select the 3 dot '...' menu and then select Duplicate (see below)

  5. Select Duplicate in another folder (see below)

  6. Select Personal OneDrive and browse to the folder you want to copy the folder to (or simply select Personal OneDrive to copy to the root) and select SELECT (see below)

    Your folder (or file) will be copied to the destination you selected (see below)

  7. If appropriate you can now remove/delete the Folder(s) or File(s) from your My Home Folder


NB: You will now be able to access your files in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
